Millbrook at Lawrenceville
A combination of a fiercely determined Lawrenceville team looking for its first win (having played a very tough early schedule) and some unfortunate breaks around both nets resulted in a 3-0 loss for the visiting Mustangs. The hosts deserved the win, outshooting Millbrook 37-21 and scoring three scrappy goals from close range, but a couple of Mary Rose Morrison shots off the post at the other end would have made for a closer score at the very least. Both goaltenders had very good games – Erin Doerrsam made some terrific stops, as did Christine Natoli, and the difference was Lawrenceville’s hunger for rebounds and that unkind goalpost! Millbrook did its best to cover for the absence of the injured Louise Steele-Norton, who would have been proud to see her teammates lift their games with her in mind.
