Mustangs start the season strong by defeating Hamden Hall

Eliza Chapman
The Mustangs came out on top for their home opener of the 2022 season. Lilly Ainley helped the Mustangs start strong with the first goal, assisted by Charleigh Newman. While we struggled a bit to get going after, we quickly regained momentum after Charleigh knocked another into the goal after a pass from Morgan Ainley. Additional goals in the first half were scored by Shaye Jasiel, Annie Hallock, and Lila Pannacciulli, with assists by Charleigh (3x) and Shaye.

We continued our momentum in the second half while all of our Mustangs were able to take the field. Annie Hallock scored two more goals. Anne Perreten saw her first goal ever as a mustang with another assist from Charleigh, and Morgan Ainley finished the game strong, unassisted, with our last goal.

Our defense (Abby Brown, Christina Bellin, Jess Trocchio, Charlotte Norton, and Ellie Patterson) held their own with Bea Zorub in goal for the first half and Brynn Bodington closing out the game in the second half. A strong start to a great season for the Mustangs. We look forward to facing Greens Farms away on Saturday.
