Full Team Effort in W vs. Westover
The Millbrook Mustangs took to the road for their fourth away game in a row to play Westover. It was a true team effort, with every Millbrook player getting an at-bat and playing in the field.
Millbrook got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Jazmin Mejia ‘25 got things started with a double, followed by Jaicee Downs ‘26 and Haley Malmgren ‘25 working walks. Hailey Mesard ‘25 then had a hard hit two-RBI single.
Millbrook added to their lead in the second and third innings. The second inning began with Mejia again hitting a double before scoring on an RBI hit by Abby Roberson ‘26, resulting in a 3-0 Millbrook lead. In the top of the third, Millbrook added seven runs. Mejia hit a home run that scored Arhi Fernandes ‘25 (walk) and Anel Cabrera ‘25 (hit). Downs then followed up with a home run of her own. Abby Hylan ‘25 then hit a triple to score Roberson and Malmgren (both of whom reached base on a walk). In the bottom of the frame, Millbrook spotted Westover three runs but still held the lead: 10-3.
Millbrook added another run in the fourth inning when Mesard scored. Mejia then held Westover from the mound with the help of the Millbrook defense.
The scoring continued for Millbrook in the top of the 5th, with Roberson getting it started with a triple. Malmgren had an RBI hit to score Roberson, followed by Hylan with an RBI double to score Malmgren. Matea Podgursky ‘25 entered the game and had a hit to score Hylan. Hailey Vigna ‘27 entered the game and worked a walk, followed by Abby Ruggles ‘26 coming in with a single. Sabrina Chu ‘25 entered and scored Podgursky. Millbrook held their lead, 15-3.
Westover came into the bottom of the fifth firing away, scoring their first two runners in the inning. Mejia then came in with 3 decisive strike outs to shut down the comeback attempt.

- Mejia and Hylan with 3 RBIs apiece, Mesard with 2

A huge appreciation to the Westover team for including our 11 seniors in their senior day celebration (see photo!). The Mustangs look to continue celebrating our seniors at home this Wednesday against Canterbury.
