Millbrook Drops Road Game to WNE Powerhouse St. Luke’s

After yesterday’s home game against King was cancelled due to rain, the Millbrook Mustangs took to the road (again!) to play St. Luke’s on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon.

St. Luke’s jumped out to a quick three-run lead in the first and then built on their lead with another five runs in the second. Millbrook scored their lone run in the top of the third inning, when Jazmin Mejia ‘25 led off the inning with a double and scored on Jaicee Downs’ RBI single. The Millbrook defense held St. Luke’s in the third and fourth innings before they added to their lead in the fifth inning.

Defensive highlights:

- Heads up play by Downs and Haley Malmgren at the plate to catch an overeager St. Luke’s runner at the plate

-Mejia with a full-on superman catch at shortstop—it would have made the Top 10 on Sports Center!

The Mustangs head to Westover on Monday for our second-to-last game of the season.
