Millbrook posts super-fast times at Suffield Academy's Gordy Glover Invitational

Millbrook girls traveled to Suffield Academy on Saturday with a reduced team of five upbeat and undaunted runners. They did a quick 3/4 mile warm-up to shake their bus legs, and then they were off! A big competitive field from nine schools, and a slightly shorter course made up of fields and rolling hills combined for some of the fastest times we've seen this season. Addis Fouche-Channer of Westover won the race in 19:28, thirty seconds ahead of the next runner. Olivia Dolan took 9th with a PR of 21:14. Chloe Naese struggled through the final mile but finished close behind Dolan in 21:26. Elizabeth Lowe (22:10) continues to improve and impress. Charlotte Kasmin (23:05)and Christina Hughes (25:05) finished out Millbrook's showing, each running their fastest races of the season. Millbrook finished 7th out of 9 teams, but Canterbury and Pomfret were both in reach, and we'll be deeper when we see them again later this season.  Many thanks to Kelsey McEvoy and family for the drinks and marshmallow brownies!  We're hoping she's back in good health for this coming week.
