Mustangs earn a hard fought win against Ethel Walker

The Mustangs had a slow start against Ethel Walker on Wednesday. Within two minutes in the first quarter, Walker's earned a stroke and was successful. Quickly after, we found our footing and started playing together. The team was transitioning beautifully in the midfield and after a pass from Lilly Ainley, Shaye Jasiel made a great pass to Lila Pannaciulli who threw it in the back of the net. We went into the second half of the game at 1-1 with lots of energy. Just before the end of the third quarter, we received the ball in our defensive zone. Jess Trocchio took a free hit and sent it down the field to Shaye. Shaye passed it down to Morgan Ainley who tipped it off to Charleigh Newman for our second goal of the game. The Mustangs earned a corner in the fourth corner. Lilly Ainley inserted the goal up to Shaye, who passed it to Morgan who sent it back down to her sister, Lilly, to knock a third into the net. Our steady defensive crew, Abby Brown, CC Norton, Jess Trocchio, Christina Bellin, and Annie Hallock (who was helping out from her typical midfield/attack spot) helped Brynn Bodington keep the score at 3-1. We are so proud of how the Mustangs pulled together to play beautifully and look forward to facing Austin Prep on Saturday.
