Millbrook wins close one

Coach Powers
Due to rain, we hosted Westover inside Saturday on our Senior Day.  A great thanks to our Seniors for their effort and leadership this year!

We started with 1-3 singles and #1 doubles.  Capt. Caroline Reilly only lost one point in the first games enroute to another impressive 8-0 win.  Despite mounting a comeback, #2 Ena Cheng's opponent had an answer for ebeything she tried, 4-8.  At #3 Capt. Laura Toland continued her winning ways, 8-2.  #1 Doubles Lillie Marcos and Louise Lynn jumped out to an early lead and then adjusted nicely when their opponents changed tactics, 8-4.  Thus we were up 3-1 going into the second round.  We didn't have to wait long for the win as #4 Emily dispatched her opponent 8-2.  The exhibtion singles and remaining doubles were truly fun to watch and very competitive.  Gracie Filler lost a close set 6-4.  Similarly, #2 doubles Kavya Nandigama and Avery MacLear fought hard and almost forced a deciding tiebreaker before falling 6-8.  On court 4, #3 doubles, Q Simon and Claire Reid, were mounting a fierce comeback from down 1-6.  At 6-7, the Westover duo was able to finally earn the win.  A great effort all around by the girls today.

We travel to Gunnery on Wednesday for our final match of this too short season.
