Millbrook gave up leads of 3-1, 4-2, and 5-3 and were tied by the visiting Soundshore Warriors. The Mustangs had the edge in talent, but the Warriors brought the superior work ethic as they battled back repeatedly whenever the hosts tried to coast with what has now clearly become their bête noire, a two-goal lead. With the game tied 5-5, the Mustangs woke up and dominated the proceedings right through to the end of overtime, ringing the goalpost at least once, but learned the hard way that you can’t always count on pulling things out at the end. The second line of Kealin Maloney, Allie Cavanaugh, and Claire Bould each had a goal in a strong performance, but overall the forwards had too much difficulty clearing their own end, rushing their passes and spending far too much time defending. Erin Doerrsam did what she could to keep things tight, stopping 42 shots on the afternoon but ran out of gas at the end. Olivia Farrell scored two goals on Kelly Fallon assists for the second straight day, while Mary Rose Morrison chimed in with two assists of her own.
