Millbrook hosted the Stamford Spinnakers club team in an evening game that began slowly. The depleted Spinnakers squad controlled much of the play and the Mustangs were decidedly flat. Against the run of play, though, Kristen Zublin and Kealin Maloney scored (Maloney against her old club) with assists from Kelly Fallon, Mary Rose Morrison, and Claire Bould. Despite its good fortune, and never comfortable with a 2-0 lead, Millbrook gave its lead up on a goal in the first twenty seconds of the third. At this point, though, Fallon took over, scoring immediately after the tying goal and setting up two Olivia Farrell goals for a decisive 5-2 lead that iced the game. Caroline McCarthy chimed in with her first assist of the year, and the third line of Maire Gray, Celia Manny and Devin Hardy helped wear its opponents down with a strong defensive effort. Freshmen Molly Chapman and Jennie Liebowitz contributed big defensive plays down the stretch, Allie Cavanaugh forechecked well all night, and it was a good team comeback effort oeverall.
