It was the Erin Doerrsam show Saturday as she managed to keep her team in the game against the Syracuse Stars, probably the best team Millbrook has seen this year. The Mustangs fought hard against a faster and deeper lineup, giving up only one early goal, and the result was in doubt right up until the last two minutes, when Syracuse put in two goals against an exhausted defense to ice the game. Millbrook had a brief flurry in the middle of the third in which they almost managed to tie the game, but the right team won, and the home team had nothing to hang its head about. Doerssam in particular could take much pride in keeping a good team scoreless for most of the game with one fine save after another.
