Millbrook vs. Rye CD

Captain Allie Cavanaugh broke open a tight game against a young but determined Rye Country Day team with an equally determined rebound of a Kelly Fallon shot in the second period. Millbrook’s offense took a while to get untracked after Fallon scored early in the first and it looked as though Rye’s tenacity and terrific goaltending would keep the game close. The home team kept pressing, though, and after Cavanaugh’s goal, the ice seemed to tilt in the Mustangs’ direction, and only one great save after another kept the score from running any higher. Kristen Zublin and Olivia Farrell rounded out the scoring, with additional assist points from Claire Bould, Ema Waldschmidt, and Mary Rose Morrison. It was a great team effort, and a comfortable win as a result. Erin Doerrsam was alert when she had to be and made a couple of key stops to preserve the shutout.
