Millbrook at Williston

Millbrook played well for long stretches but was easily outmatched by a more talented and deeper Williston team that dominated every phase of the game but the power play.  The game was barely underway when Williston took a 1-0 lead which grew to 3-0 by the end of the period, and the game was effectively over.  Millbrook was increasingly unable to mount much of an attack against a well-organized defense as the game wore on, getting only 16 shots on net.  Early season defensive breakdowns continued to plague the Mustangs, and the team's discipline was poor, as Millbrook took nine penalties to Williston's two, thereby shutting down its own offense.  There were signs of improved passing and better poise in the defensive end, especially on the penalty kill, but the team will need to learn this game's lessons quickly in order to compete with Gunnery Wednesday.
