Millbrook Boys Take Canterbury Invitational 2 Years in a Row
Tom Brown
The Millbrook Boys arrived at Canterbury this afternoon excited for another chance to in the large invitational. Through a rigorous first few weeks of practice the guys put themselves in terrific shape and were all motivated to earn the win. With contributions from every member, the boys were able to walk away from the afternoon with another first place trophy.
Before listing any statistics I'd like to offer a special thanks to Ben Berg, Chris Wilkins and Jayden Reaves. Ben was originally registered to be one of our 7 runners, and while he was craving to run, he gave up his spot because he felt he would not fare as well with an injured knee. My second thanks foes to Chris Wilkens who was in attendance as an alternate and ran a terrific race in Ben's stead. Finally, Jayden came to the meet knowing he had a low chance to run, but was a supportive member of the team, cheering boys and girls all over the course, providing water and being a generally great support. My appreciations to each.
While the team placed first, here are the individual achievements of our 7 runners: 7th Place - Kazuki U - 18:38 13th Place - Alex W - 18:49 15th Place - Arthur M - 19:02 22nd Place - Jackson Lee - 19:19 24th Place - Tyler S - 19:19 34th Place - Victor L - 19:54 55th Place - Chris W - 21:20
