Millbrook welcomed Berkshire to campus on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 start. Gordon Brown-Christenson was on the mound for the Mustangs, making his home debut. Berkshire managed to push across two in the opening frame, but Millbrook tied it on a 2-run home run to right by Trevor Liefer.
Millbrook would take a one run lead in the bottom of the third on a solo home run by Lake Miller. Berkshire quickly answered with one of their one.
Millbrook would take the lead in the fifth when Liefer walked and Connor Elwell doubled to left-center. With two runners in scoring position, Sheldon Freeman laced a double down the right field line, plating both. He was followed by Brown-Christenson who promptly deposited the Berkshire offering over the left field fence for a 7-3 lead.
It was not to last, however. Despite getting the first two outs in the top of the sixth, Berkshire managed to string some quality at-bats together and, when it was all said and done, held the lead and won 10-7.
Millbrook looks to keep their bats rolling in a rematch against Canterbury on Monday afternoon at 4:45.
