More Hits Does Not Always Equal More Runs

Millbrook travelled to Gunnery on Wednesday for their regular season opener. Despite some dark forecasts early in the week, the sun came out just in time for the first pitch. Connor Elwell also came out shining on the mound, retiring the first three batters he faced on four pitches. Unfortunately, the Millbrook bats were quiet through the first two innings as well. The bottom of the second inning saw the Mustangs field with their hooves and Gunnery was able to plate three on several Millbrook errors.

The Mustangs would respond with 2 in the top of the third but would never get any closer, despite out-hitting Gunnery 9-6. Sheldon Freeman, Lake Miller, and Reid Kugler were all repeat hitters. Millbrook next travels to Wilbraham, MA on Satuday to take on the Titans at 4:00.
