Millbrook Strongly Contests Kent in Close Loss

Coach Brown
A week of strong training resultsin a good showing against Kent. Many PRs for a cold, rainy day.
This weekend saw many parents coming out to view the race even despite cold temperatures and intermittent rain. The Mustangs had a strong week of training leading up to this race, completing a tough Tuesday workout, a mock race on Wednesday, and a series of hills runs on Thursday. Under tough conditions, Millbrook's runners narrowed its margin of loss against Kent to 8 points, whereas last year it was 21 points. That means several individual improvements and greater strength as a team.

Kazuki Unayama ran 18:23, which is his fastest time at home this season and just as fast as his race at the Canterbury Invitational earlier this fall. That suggestsa strong improvement in Kazuki's ability, which bodes well with Williston and New Englands on the horizon.

Other star performances were Ben Berg (19:30), Mateo Winogrand (20:29), Ryan Pitoscia (20:51), and Sam Iacavazzi (20:57). Henry 'hot wheels' Schulz came in at 21:12, followed by Chris 'grit cake' Wilkins at 21:27.

Honorable mention goes to Buz Galbraith, for showing grit and perservance on a cold and rainy day.
