The 2016 Intersession catalog has been released, and we are excited to offer 35 course options this year.
Intersession is a required academic program in which students participate during the week prior to spring recess. For this hands-on learning experience, faculty design immersive courses that are extensions of our curricula, some with a focus on service learning opportunities.
A new aspect of the 2016 Intersession program is the opportunity to participate in half courses. Students who choose to participate in two half courses, rather than one full course throughout the week, will be able to explore two topics of interest. We are excited to offer this opportunity for students who may have strong interest in multiple topics or want to try something new.
An important aspect of all Intersession courses is the capstone project. For this final exercise students focus their attention on a culminating product that they will share with the entire school community on the final morning of Intersession week. The goal of this project is to improve students’ organization and presentation of learned information and experience as preparation for their VI form Culminating Experience for Seniors (CES) project.
