Millbrook Comeback Falls Short
Millbrook took the field against Cheshire Academy on Saturday afternoon for their true home opener. Trevor Liefer was on the mound for the Mustangs and managed to work a scoreless first two innings. In the third, however, the Fighting Cats bats awoke and Cheshire took a 5-0 lead. Millbrook responded with two in the home half of the inning.
In the top of the fourth, Cheshire added to their lead, plating three to go up 8-2. The Mustangs would trim the deficit to four in the bottom of the fifth on a 2-RBI single by Reid Kugler '14. Unfortunately, that was the end of th scoring for the final two innings and the Fighting Cats went home with an 8-4 victory.
Millbrook continues their homestand on Wednesday at 2:30 PM against Salisbury.
