The annual Accolade Awards have recently been announced by CASE (The Council for Advancement and Support of Education), and Millbrook School is a silver-medal winner in the Best Practices in Alumni Relations category!

Director of Communications Jill Kane submitted a terrific entry package which included the following elements from our 75th Anniversary celebration:
  • The DVD of the 75th anniversary documentary film Down School Road: Millbrook at 75
  • The portfolio, Millbrook Reminiscences, designed as an at-a-glance history of Millbrook School
  • Web clips of twenty-one interviews with Millbrook alumni and current and former faculty, parents, and headmasters, posted on www.millbrook.org
It was our belief that these elements were extremely successful in communicating to alumni the message that their school remains the excellent institution that they remember, one which continues to launch the productive and successful lives of its graduates while adhering to its founding principles - the CASE judges agreed.

Competing against colleges, universities, and other independent schools, Millbrook School was awarded a silver medal in CASE District II for "alumni-related activities that take innovative approaches, demonstrate outstanding success, and model best practices."  Judges were looking for materials which included a new twist on alumni programming or integrated multimedia into reunions and other alumni events. We were in good company - American University won the bronze medal in this category, and RPI won gold.

Congratulations, once again, to producer Jill Kane and director/producer Daniel Cohen '86 of Down School Road and the 75th Anniversary web clips for their hard work and dedication to this award-winning project - one that is very close to their hearts.

Parents, alumni, and Millbrook friends - if you have not received your copy of Down School Road or Reminiscenses, please contact Jill Kane via email or phone (845-677-8261 x130).
