Zooie of the Week - Dexter Day '19

Our Zooie of the week is Dexter Day, a III former who looks after one of our serows, Yukiko.

Dexter first came to the Trevor Zoo with his family when he was in first grade. He looked at a number of boarding schools, but chose Millbrook because of its ideal size and location close to home.

After working as part of the Recycling Community Service group in the fall, Dexter got the winter rotation at the zoo. He says that he was happy to be assigned the serow because it is an animal that he did not know much about.

“I hadn’t really even heard of serows, but I find them to be very interesting. My favorite part of being at the zoo is getting to see the animals up close,” says Dexter.

Twice daily, Dexter feeds Yukiko, scrubs her water bowl, replaces her hay, and cleans her barn. When he is not at the zoo, Dexter is a three-season athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and tennis.

Congratulations Dexter!
