Defensive Errors Prove Costly as Millbrook Falls to South Kent
Robb Arndt
Millbrook took the field during a classic BMD on Saturday afternoon to take on South Kent. The Mustangs capitalized on a couple South Kent bobbles early and jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the first inning. Zane Acord '15 was throwing well on the mound, consistently getting ahead of the Cardinals batters. Unfortunately, the Mustangs committed some defensive blunders of their own over the course of the next few innings and found themselves in an 8-4 hole going into the top of the fifth. The defensive miscues continued, and South Kent plated six in the inning. Despite a couple baserunners, Millbrook was unable to push across any more runs.
The Mustangs now look forward to five days of focused practice before taking on Cantebury next Saturday.
