Two Millbrook Students to Attend Prestigious New England Young Writers’ Conference
Two Millbrook students, Aria Bowden ’18 and Henry Schulz ’18, have been selected to participate in the New England Young Writers' Conference at Middlebury’s Bread Loaf campus on May 19.
Bowden ’18 and Schulz ’18 will join 200 dedicated high school writers from across the nation to share manuscripts, attend readings, and study craft-skills with a staff comprised of professional writers and/or college-level teachers of creative writing.
“I'm looking forward to improving my writing and creative process through discussion and writing workshops,” says Henry Schulz ’18 who submitted a short story prose with his application that he will be refining at the conference.
“I'm really excited to go! I look forward to the learning opportunity this presents me with, and I'm really looking forward to meet new people. I'll get the chance to meet other young writers and to meet published authors, which I'm sure will be an incredible experience,” says Aria Bowden ’18. Aria is passionate about poetry, and submitted three poems with her application for the conference.
Congratulations to Bowden ’18 and Schulz ’18 on their acceptance to the New England Young Writers’ Conference. We are excited for them to immerse themselves in all that makes this conference an outstanding experience: the creativity, literary discovery, and the collaboration with each other and with language.
