MillbrookEngage Chapel Talk

The school community gathered to hear from this year’s group of MillbrookEngage participants at a Thursday evening Chapel Talk in the Chelsea Morrison Theater. In what has become an autumn tradition, a panel of fifteen VIth form students, the most program participants to date, took the stage to discuss their internship experiences at a variety of not-for-profit service organizations over the summer.

Bringing energy and enthusiasm to their work, students were also able to deploy their technical, organizational, and communication expertise to serve a variety of social causes. MillbrookEngage interns worked across the region as child life specialists in hospitals and as camp counselors, as museum docents, tour guides, and fundraisers, and in voter outreach, mental health services, hunger causes, and animal welfare.

MillbrookEngage is the brainchild of alumnus Herb Shultz ’63. His drive to spread the school’s mission of service is evident not only in his initial funding of the program but also in his continued support and yearly presence at the MillbrookEngage Chapel Talk.
