Mustangs do not give up at Holderness

MIllbrook traveled to distant Holderness to play against a new team in the conference.  Despite plagued with injuries sustained from last week's battle with Pomfret, Millbrook at times looked impressive against a physically larger Holderness team.   An early touchdown was scored by RB Matt Amato, who later had to leave the game due to a hand injury.  QB Kevin Justice scored a running play TD. A surprising pass-interference call against MIllbrook led Holderness to gain a scoring advantage. Despite these setbacks, the Mustangs kept up with Holderness and was only behind by 8 points at halftime (22-14).    In the third quarter, Holderness pulled farther ahead and it looked like the game was heading to a blowout, when the Mustang defense stepped up and stopped Holderness cold for most of the 4th quarter.  QB Kevin Justice scored one more touchdown and the last TD was scored by FB Liam Piper both on running plays.  Piper's TD came with about 20 seconds left in the game.  The Mustangs did not give up and that impressed even Holderness fans who expressed their admiration for the Mustangs effort after the game.
