Mustangs Win Home-Opener!

In an exciting match against Tilton, Millbrook took the win for their first home game. The girls opened strong, playing aggressive offense and smart defense. Midway through the first period, Millbrook's Emily Even'13 netted the first goal of the game at 9:25 of the first. After holding strong in the defensive zone and taking care of the puck for the remainder of the period, the team went into the second period up by 1 goal. Tilton came out in the second ready to give us a game, scoring their first goal in the second period to tie the score. Coming out in the third period tied 1-1, Millbrook hit the ice with a fury. An aggressive penalty kill by Emma Hart, a number of key saves by Tori Trovato and a pile of scoring chances by Cate MacKenzie and Eiza Chapman contributed to the momentum of the third period. Millbrook's three addition goals in this period made it a clean and well deserved victory. Goals were scored by Melissa Sheeran'14, Megan Ahern'13 assisted by Marianne Thomaris'12, and the fourth goal, her second of the night was Even, assisted by Ahern and Sheeran.
