The Mustangs suffered a disappointing loss to Williston. After jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead, it looked like the bats had come back alive. But give credit to the Williston pitching for keeping us off balance the rest of the day, allowing only 4 hits and 4 walks. It was a sloppy day with rain, and a relatively sloppy performance for us, while Williston played flawless defense. I say relatively due to our tight defense and pitching so far. We committed 4 errors, and allowed two other outs to elude us. John McCulla ’10 pitched well in the loss allowing only 1 earned run in 5 2/3 innings, walking 3 (1 intentional, and striking out 3. He also got our offense going in the 1st with a long double, scored our first run and drew two walks to finish the day 1-1. Carl Rasmussen ’12 scored our second run with some heads up baserunning and added a single. Tim Cooney ’11 drove in the first run with a 2 out single, and Jason Greenfield ’13 added a single as well. The Mustangs will make the trip to Suffield on Wednesday and look to get the bats going again.
