After getting down early due to wildness and allowing too many free baserunners, the Mustangs showed a lot of guts, fought back, and almost got the tying run to the plate in the 7th. I am very proud of the way this team never gave up, battled in every at bat, and supported their teammates. Offensively, we banged out another 8 hits, while only allowing 7. We also drew 5 walks while only striking out 5 times. Carl Rasmussen ’12 led the attack with a single, double, walk, HBP, 2 runs, and an rbi - reaching base every time he came to the plate. Tim Cooney ’11 (2 runs, rbi) and Grayson Voges ‘12(2 rbi) each had two hits on the day. Juan Pablo Viteri ’10 made two nice catches in the outfield. Harrison Gostfrand ’11 got the Mustangs pitching back on track by pitching 3 scoreless, only allowing one hit. We look forward to our first home game this Saturday vs. Cheshire at 3pm.
