Boys lose tough one in season opener vs. KO

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team opened up their season on Wednesday to a good Kingswood-Oxford team. In past years, Millbrook and KO have had good, strong, competitive games. Unfortunately for us, they took the edge this year. The boys had a slow start in the game, and didn't really shift gears until the 3rd quarter. At half time, we were down 4-0, a clear indication of nerves and anxiousness to open up the season. Once we started to realize that we needed to turn it up a click, the boys got right into the game and put two in quickly in the 3rd quarter.

A hard fought second half, it was great to finally come back and tie the game to bring it into overtime. One wasn't enough, and the game went into a second OT. A few tries at point were taken with Beau Parent (08') to convert, however, we couldn't seem to make a clean pass or shot up top. The game finally ended when Chris Bennett (08') took one off the chest, as the shooter got his own rebound with no Millbrook players to be found on D, and buried it.

Will Benjamin (09') had a great start to the year with 3 goals, and Beau picked up one as well. Bennett made some key saves, and had some great clears for a well-played first game between the pipes. We look forward to facing off @ Hopkins on Saturday to make a quick turn around from today's game.
