The girls grab yet another shut out

On a cold, blustery, overcast day out on Siberia as we so fondly call our field now that daylight savings has ended and those north winds have picked up,  the girls varsity field hockey team defeated a struggling Cheshire 6-0. Cheshire mounted a little offense in the opening minutes, earning a penalty corner. It took Millbrook about 10 minutes to warm up and find our rhythm, our first score occuring at 22:23 as Anthony stole the ball, dribbled through 3 players, passed to Zublin who scored from the left post position; assist to Anthony. Millbrook had 6 penalty corners in the first half; Burdis and Kane hammered shots at Cheshire's able goalie who made 8 great saves in the first half alone. Millbrook's second score came off a scrum in front of goal; Zublin with the tally. Anthony scored again at 8:54 with assists to Burdis and Kane. The score was 3-0 at the half. Anthony scored again in the second half; Kane scored on a solo run, and at 6:20 Scher notched her third goal of the season with an assist to Fresne, who had a solid game. Goalie Morrison came out of goal and played on the field, clearly enjoying her freedom, dazzling spectators with her left-handed hockey prowess. The team showed composure and grace in defeating a much weaker team and are to be commended for their good sportsmanship.
