Millbrook defeats Marvelwood 4-1

Wednesday’s game against the Pterodactyls of Marvelwood was a low scoring affair between two patient teams. The Mustangs played a careful game of ball control and created many scoring opportunities, leading to the first goal of the game by Baldo, in the 7th minute. Marvelwood took advantage of a restart at the top of the box to pull even after 15 minutes. Millbrook settled down, regained control and set up Baldo for his second to take a lead into half time. The second half belonged to the home team, which moved the ball well all half, thwarting Marvelwood’s attempts to get back into the contest. Benjamin and MacTavish added a goal each, and all contributed significantly to this fine team win. Naeff, Lehrecke and Harrington anchored the defense in the second half while Theriault, Bottini and A. Navarro kept the pressure on Marvelwood’s goalie all half long.
