Williston Tops Mustangs

The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team traveled to Northampton, Massachusetts to take on perennial power Williston on a gray, drizzly Saturday afternoon. The first half was a tense, back-and-forth affair, as both teams had chances but couldn't put them away. Chloe Robinson '19 just missed putting the Mustangs ahead at the end of the first. In the second, Williston slowly got more chances and started to convert, as the Mustangs got a bit tired and flat-footed on defense. Millbrook had more chances but couldn't manage to put any in the back of the cage. In the end, Williston pulled away, but the Mustangs didn't stop fighting. Antonia Koslowski '18 did some nice work on defense, especially in the first half, and Ava Quartararo '18 had a beast of a game in the midfield. Emma Gotthelf '19 made life tough for the Williston defense as a forward. Patricia Smith '17 was her typical stalwart self in the cage, notching eight saves. The Mustangs will host Canterbury on Wednesday.
