Mustangs Drop Heartbreaker
Millbrook travelled to Wilbraham and Monson on Saturday afternoon to open their league schedule against the 2015 league runner-up Titans.
The game was a pitcher's duel from the beginning, as '16 Connor Morrisroe and the flawless Mustang defense held the Titan offense at bay through five innings. Millbrook would take the lead in the top of the 5th on a '17 Trevor Herter RBI single, plating '18 JonJon Conahan.
The Titan offense responded in the sixth, scoring two runs to place Millbrook in a 2-1 hole heading into the top half of the 7th. Refusing to go quietly, the Mustang offense scratched two runs across the board with Herter and Morrisroe providing the RBI hits to score '16 Danny Mitchell and Conahan.
Unfortunately, Millbrook was unable to find the final out in the bottom half of the seventh and the Titans walked off in the bottom half of the eighth.
Millbrook will travel to Berkshire on Wednesday for a 2:30 first pitch.
