Millbrook travelled to South Kent on Friday for their regular season opener against the Cardinals. On a blustery and cold afternoon, the Mustang offense came out hot, plating 3 runs in the top half of the opening frame. This outburst was highlighted by an 2-strike RBI single from '17 C Trevor Herter, one of two hits and four times that he would reach base on the afternoon.
Millbrook would tack on a run in the 5th and two in the sixth, on a Herter 2-RBI double, to go on to win 6-0. '17 P Jack Quartararo was masterful on the mound through five innings, limiting the Cardinals to one hit while striking out 5 batters. '18 P Dylan Schmalz impressed in relief, needing only 19 pitches to get the final 6 outs.
Millbrook will travel to Wilbraham and Monson tomorrow afternoon to take on the Titans at 4PM.
