tri match sweep

What an exciting and crazy day at Canterbury today!  Delbarton was up first in this tri-match and the first round of evens ended with a 2-1 Millbrook lead. Charles couldn't overcome a very slow start losing in three but Greg and Willy both won in 4 games.  In the second round, Felipe played well but lost in 3 and Colin had trouble finding a rhythm and also lost in 3 giving Delbarton a 3-2 lead.  Sam was his usual steady self and continued his unbeaten streak winning in 3 which set up the finale at the #7 position to decide the match, tied at 3 all.  Ben played brilliantly and dispatched his opponent in three quick games giving his team the 4-3 win.

Canterbury was up next and the boys were exhausted but played with amazing heart and grit. Charles, Sam and Willy all won easily in 3 games and Greg in 4.  Although the team outcome was never in question, Felipe, Colin and Ben played their matches like it was, each coming away with remarkable 5 game wins; Felipe 13-11 in the fifth, Colin 12-10 in the fifth, and Ben 11-9 in the fifth!   The match ended in a 7-0 win to keep the unbeaten streak alive at 6 and 0!
