After numerous games of not being able to find the net, the JV Mustangs netted 5 on Wednesday. Millbrook welcomed Chase Collegiate in a rematch of the first game of the season. Knowing that they had to get off to a quick start, the lads from Millbrook did just that. In the 11th minute, Ned Oliver cracked a shot from the 18 off a square pass from Aiden Parker. Less than a minute later, Rory Gagnon potted Colin Stuart's pass. Midway through the first half, the Mustangs gave up a poor angle goal and entered halftime leading by 1. Milbrook opened the second half like they did the first. 6 minutes in, Ned Oliver buried his second of the game when Jack Dolan's pass deflected off Rich Petrafiesa's foot and landed in Oliver's wheelhouse. Chase managed to close the gap 5 minutes later when they benefited from an unfortunate Own Goal. Trevor Liefer joined the scoring party with a well-placed shot off a Zach Keller-Coffey pass. The Mustangs weren't done - with seconds remaining, Christian Marzullo was the beneficiary of a Jack Dolan pass and looped the ball into the tuna net as the final buzzer rang. The Mustangs controlled the majority of play. In their best showing of the year, they strung passes together, won 50/50 balls and made smart runs. The defense, anchored by Mat Livermore, never let Chase get into a rhythm. Micah Adams, Duncan Harvey and Josh Webb shut down the wing play. The lads travel to South Kent Saturday for a tough match.
