It is with great sadness that we pass on this news to members of the Millbrook community.
Today the Millbrook School family mourns the loss of graduate Taylor Vit ’07 who died on October 11th from injuries suffered in a car accident the previous afternoon. Taylor was a respected and admired young man who was a true role model and leader. While at Millbrook, Taylor was an honors student and a gifted varsity athlete in soccer, hockey, and lacrosse; as co-captain of his hockey team, he led by example. He touched the lives of not only his fellow students, but faculty, staff, and children here on campus. Taylor had just begun his senior year at the University of Kentucky where he once again took a leadership role as assistant captain of the men’s hockey team.
Chaplain Cameron Hardy led a memorial service for Taylor, which was held in the Flagler Memorial Chapel on October 11th. The entire school community also observed a moment of silence at morning assembly on October 12th.
Taylor is survived by his parents, Bill & Kathie Vit, and his brothers, Zach and Cameron.
Services for Taylor will be as follows: Visitation hours will be on Friday evening from 6-9:00 p.m. at the Donohue Funeral Home at 366 W. Lancaster Ave. Wayne, PA, (610) 989-9600 (www.donohuefuneralhome.com).
The service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Wayne Presbyterian Church at 125 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087, (610) 688-8700.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Taylor’s memory be sent to Millbrook School, 131 Millbrook School Road, Millbrook, NY 12545.
