We're back! What a turn-around. To come roaring back on Saturday after a pretty dismal game (and loss) on Wednesday, is very gratifying. The lady Mustangs played tough, smart, gritty hockey to hold off Williston, who played hard right to the end. It was a skillful game for both teams; lots of back and forth play. Millbrook had more offensive runs, but Williston's quick, aggressive forwards remained a threat thoughout the contest. Millbrook scored our only goal at 28:36 on our second offensive corner. Chapman injected to Kane, who back-handed to Burdis who shot; Anthony scored on the rebound, a fine play. Kane and Burdis with assists on the goal. But the true stars of the game were our dogged defense. Sophomore Fracchia played another tough game, this time in a new position as center back. Defenders Small, Zimnoch and Ehrenreich, in front of the ever-hustling goalie Morrison, denied Williston time and time again. Ehrenreich played especially safe, smart hockey. The entire MIllbrook team is to be commended for excellent passing and stickwork; for playing good pressure/cover defense; for incredible speed on fast breaks and some real determination in the offensive circle. Captain Anthony showed how tough she is, continuing to play after taking a hard blow to the face. Morrison recorded her second shut-out for the season and made 8 saves.
