The Millbrook girls’ lacrosse team fought a close contest against Holy Child on Saturday 4/1, keeping the game to a close 4-6 score at the half before finishing at 8-13. The Millbrook defense made key adjustments as the game progressed, hindering offensive efforts by Holy Child and capitalizing on interceptions by Shaye Jasiel, Emma Salvatore, and Jill Smith. The Mustangs forced 13 turnovers, including four by Callie Leary. Offensively, Morgan Ainley (3 goals) and Charleigh Newman (3 goals) were multi-point scorers for the Mustangs, with Sophia Sorriento and Georgia Elsener adding two assists each. A great team effort through the transition, both offensively and on the defensive ride, raised the intensity of play. The Mustangs will play at home again on Tuesday against St. Lukes.
