Mustangs Top St. Luke's, 6-0

The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team earned a 6-0 win over St. Luke’s at home on a balmy Wednesday afternoon. The Mustangs looked a little lethargic in the first half but got rolling in the second. Emma Gotthelf ’19 had a huge game, scoring twice and assisting on three more goals. Ellie Muckstadt ’18 opened up the scoring six minutes into the contest when she sent in a Gotthelf pass at the left post. Gotthelf put Millbrook up 2-0 at the half when she knocked home a rebound. The Mustangs upped the energy and intensity in the second half and opened up the scoring floodgates. Muckstadt scored for a second time (assist Tess Toland ’17) ten minutes in, and then Chloe Robinson ’19 added one of her own two minutes later (assist Gotthelf). Jackie Crowley ’20 scored her second goal of the season with six minutes remaining (Gotthelf), and Gotthelf closed out the scoring with a sweet tip off a pretty drive in from Toland. Patricia Smith notched four saves in the shutout victory (including a stopped penalty stroke). Millbrook will have its last home game on Saturday, hosting Suffield for Senior Day.
