Mustangs Get Thrilling 1-0 Senior Day Win over Suffield

The Millbrook Varsity Field Hockey team won its final home game in exciting fashion, beating Suffield 1-0. The Mustangs scored the lone goal of the game just seven minutes into the contest on a penalty corner, when Chloe Robinson '19 injected the ball to the top of the circle, where Riley Croghan '18 sent an absolute rocket into the goal. After the goal, Suffield turned up the intensity and really pressured the Millbrook defense, though several saves (8 total in the game) from keeper Patricia Smith '17 and a sweet goal-line save from Jen Hughes '17 preserved the Millbrook lead. The Mustangs turned things around in the second half and started to press the Suffield defense, but neither team could break through for another goal despite some close calls. After the game, the team got together for a celebratory dinner (thanks, parents!) for our seniors: Patricia Smith, Gracie Filler, Jen Hughes, Laura Toland, Tess Toland, Leah Fuld, Jasmine Thatcher, and Caroline Reilly. They are a special bunch, and they will be sorely missed next year.
