Developmental Curriculum

Millbrook School inaugurated a Human Development Curriculum, beginning with the fourth form in the fall of 2000. The goal of the human development curriculum, broadly stated, is a) to foster cooperation, communication, and respect for individual differences throughout the community and b) to help each student to accomplish the developmental tasks of adolescence, identity, wellness, core values, and decision-making. The aim is to help students make better choices in the areas of goal setting, time management, relationships, anger management, sexuality, drug and alcohol use. The fourth form will meet twice weekly for regularly scheduled Human Development classes during the academic day.
