Millbrook vs. Trinity Pawling

Greg Murphy

On a day when things went from good to bad, the Millbrook Mustangs traveled to Trinity Pawling for a non-league Tilt, where the Pride found a way to beat the Blue and Silver for the first time this season. The start of the game looked promising for the Mustangs when Will Benjamin ’09 controlled the face off circle for the first five draws of the game. Benjamin would put the Mustangs on the board first with a strong dodge in transition only 20 seconds into the game to score the first goal of the game. The Pride would take the next goal to tie the game at 1-1, but it would be the Mustangs who would collect the next two goals of the game off of another transition goal from Marcello Dubaz 07’ and a crafty feed from Forrest Mas 07’ to fellow classmate Nick Weaver for the score. It was all Pride for the rest of the half as the home team collected three more goals in the first and added four more in the second quarter to take a 8-3 lead into the half. In the second half, the defense settled down and had its best quarter only allowing two goals. Fifth Former Chris Bennett did a commendable job in the goal stopping 13 shots on the day, which was also they key to slowing down the scoring in the second half. In the fourth quarter, Trinity Pawling would find the net three more times, but it would be lone third former Alex Harvey who would cash in on the final goal of the game at 2:38 left to close out the contest. The Mustangs look to rebound when they will host the Canterbury School on Saturday April 21 for a 2:30PM Tilt.
