Millbrook girls best a small Frederick Gunn squad
Millbrook girls cross country opened the racing season with a nice win over Frederick Gunn School. Captain Andy Sassatelli '28 bested her own course record by 2 seconds to win the race.
It was a stunning fall day for racing at Millbrook, and the girls ran to win! From the first mile to the finish, Millbrook's top three were Sass in 1st, Joiee Downs '29 in 2nd, hitting below her target time, and newcomer to Millbrook, Trinity Robinson '28 in a strong 3rd. Anya Kelmanovich '28 was 4th for Millbrook, opening up a lead on Frederick Gunn's second runner in the second and third miles of the race. In their first-ever 5K races, Emily Goice '28 and Mallory Cassidy '30 finished strong in 5th and 6th for Millbrook. Well-done runners!
