KJ Pimentel Reps Puerto Rico at Colt League World Series
KJ Pimentel ’28 is a young man of many talents at Millbrook School, making an impact on the baseball field and basketball court and lending his vocal skills to many musical performances. Over the weekend, his baseball skills were on full display at PONY Baseball’s Colt 16U World Series in Marion, Illinois.
Called on to represent Puerto Rico, he delivered an outstanding all-around performance. Playing every inning of Perto Rico’s three games in the series, he showed out at the plate and on the basepaths, collecting three hits and stealing six bags. He also played stellar defense in left field, which included an amazing over-the-shoulder grab in the 8th inning against Tijuana, Mexico, that kept the score close and propelled Puerto Rico to a walk-off win.

While his team was later bounced from the tournament by Southern Illinois, KJ was impressed by the squad’s fighting spirit and appreciative of the opportunity—one he knows his late grandfather would be proud of:
“It was an honor to represent Puerto Rico at the 2026 Colt World Series in Illinois,” he said. “I was given the opportunity to play and connect with great talent that comes out from the island. The atmosphere on and off the field was electric—we never gave up and kept fighting till the end. This is an experience I have always dreamed of, and I know that my abuelo is smiling down on me from heaven.”
KJ is one of a few Mustang baseball stars making news this summer. Pedro Leon ’24 earned CDS Academic All-District honors as a pitcher for the Holy Cross Crusaders, and Justin Munoz ’26 just finished up his time playing Catcher/DH for the Burlington Sock Puppets in MLB’s Appalachian League.
Millbrook’s athletic department offers high school baseball players every resource they need to develop their game and get the attention of professional and college scouts. Many of our athletes turn their time competing against tough New England prep school teams into successful careers in college and the pros.
