GV Lacrosse Wins New England Tournament

The girls varsity lacrosse squad played hard all spring, taking their lumps and developing team chemistry throughout a tough year. So, when the pressure was on in the New England Tournament, they were ready to put the regular season behind them and win the games that mattered most.

When the tournament ended, the Mustangs stood atop the New England Preparatory School Girls Lacrosse Association (NEPSGLA). A lopsided 11-3 win over Suffield Academy made them the 2026 Class C champions!

“We had three excellent wins against Frederick Gunn, Worcester Academy, and Suffield, who we had lost to earlier in the season,” GV Lacrosse Head Coach Caitlin Sorriento said. “The tournament was a culmination of the work that the girls put in over the course of the season and demonstrated their growth in both the mental and physical parts of the game.  Highlights included play in net by Madison Carpenter and offensive contributions by Sophia Sorriento (11 goals and 5 assists) that helped secure a 33-10 goal edge for Millbrook on the day and propelled the team to their championship victory.”

Congratulations to the champs! Next year's squad will be loaded with VIth formers, so a repeat championship might be in the cards.
