Mourning the loss of alumnus, friend, and benefactor, Fred Hamilton '45
Fred was a supportive and faithful gentleman and grandfather to Crawford Hamilton, Jr. '05, and he will be sorely missed.
Over the years Fred funded the Frederic C. Hamilton Endowed Chair in English, and several years later he made a leadership commitment to the school's current capital campaign. In recognition of Fred's generosity, the board of trustees paid tribute to him by naming the Math and Science Center in his honor.
Fred and his wife, Jane, returned to campus two years ago, and Fred addressed the school community on the importance of taking risks, being confident and resilient, and giving back to one's community.
We extend our sympathies to Jane and to the entire Hamilton family. Our school is a far better place because of Fred's loyalty and investment, both which will make an enduring difference for generations of Millbrook students.
