Commencement Address by Francisco L. Borges '70, May 29, 2016

Good morning,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome all of you today:parents, grandparents, family members, and friends, to this very special occasion and ceremony.

During my Millbrook years, the commitment, caring, dedication, and guidance of the faculty and administration was essential to my growth and progress as a teenager. They had and still have today, the unique talent and ability to see potential, nuture it, and inspire the confidence and determination necessary for success.
Today, a fourth member of my family, my nephew Daniel, joins his cousin Caleb (Class of 2013), and his uncle Peter (Class of 1976), as a Millbrook alumnus. They too, along with me, benefitted immensely from the impressive abilities and extraordinary dedication exhibited every day by the men and women of the Millbrook faculty and administration. I ask you, the Class of 2016, parents, all who are gathered here today, to rise and join me in expressing a heartfelt thanks to Drew, the faculty and the administration, for all they do everyday to make the Millbrook experience so incredibly special.

Class of 2016, I offer my hearty congratulations! In short, as you leave today, you go with our hope and you go with our expectation that you will lead lives of meaning and consequence. Congratulations.
