The spring art exhibition at the Warner Gallery is now open to help you weather the final months of winter in Millbrook. Artists Jeff Joyce, Rebecca Shippee, Rebecca Bird, Connor Fitzsimmons, Susan Stillman, Dani Klebes, Ada Goldfeld, and Millbrook alum Alden “Trevor” McWilliams ’01 turn everyday scenes into beautiful paintings and drawings.
“Weathering gathers painters who show possibilities of the snow, the ice, of the wet,” shared show curator Kiernan Pazdar. “They transform what’s around them into art, seizing opportunities that arise from careful observation, from being in the world, and from taking the time to record their view for others to see.”
The show officially opened after formal dinner on Thursday. Students and faculty snacked on tasty treats while taking in the unique perspectives presented in the exhibition. The art gently carried the viewers from warm indoor scenes to views of quiet town streets and out into the forest.
The weather outside these days is frightfully cold, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from traversing the bricks to Holbrook to get a closer look at Weathering.
