Take Your Chances

Mustangs struggle on a chilly, wet field, without several starters, but take the opportunity to improve.
Every game offers an opportunity to learn and grow, even when the score is lopsided and the conditions unforgiving. Such was the case for the Millbrook boys thirds team today. Captain Michael Philipp, normally an offensive player, demonstrated defensive chops in a second half that yielded a goal differential of just two. Peter Wilkie, trying his hand at striker, had several close chances and shots on goal. Players that don't normally show up in the score box landed dangerous shots on goal as well, including Will Harold, who struck the ball just over the crossbar, and "Man of the Match," Finn Pages, who had a beautiful curving shot to the top right corner that nearly found the back of the net. Goalie, James Magid, played an incredible second half, stopping several low drives and breakaways.

Thanks to the parents who watched from the sidelines and brought treats for after the game. We also want to appreciate the trainer, who let Bryce Gelb (injured mid-match) bring crutches home with him on the bus.
