The mustangs hold their own despite a very shallow bench.
Due to a few unfortunate injuries, the mustangs ended their game against Brunswick with zero subs. We were proud of the outcome given how few of our starters made the game and how shallow our bench was today. The play of the day for us happened late in the second half, when Charley Li managed to find teammate Oliver Lamb on a deflection pass just before slamming into the Brunswick goalie. Oliver fended off two Brunswick defenders and found the back of the net for his first ever thirds soccer goal. Charley had to come off the field after his heroic assist, but seemed happy to have contributed by the end of the game. Congrats to Oliver and Charley!
I'm sorry to have to report that James Magid only made 1.49 million saves today, missing his target of 1.5 million. If Peter Wilkie hadn't played such excellent defense for the entire game, perhaps James would've had more chances.
We'd like to thank the refs for doing an excellent job of calling the game, and the Brunswick coaches for maintaining a good atmosphere for the players.
